Trimley St. Martin

Circular walk

The walk from Searsons Farm to Loompit Lake and back to Trimley St. Martin’s in Suffolk offers a picturesque route that allows for a tranquil and scenic outdoor experience. This walk typically includes exploring the countryside, passing by farmlands, bird watch, and enjoying the natural beauty of Loompit Lake. Since this route might not be as well-documented on major trail websites, I recommend local resources such as detailed Ordnance Survey maps or reaching out to the Suffolk Walking forum for specific guidance on this particular route. These resources should provide more detailed information about parking, trailheads, and any points of interest along the way, ensuring a pleasant and hassle-free walking experience. I also include a map of this 6 miles walk (10 km). You can leave the cars at the gate of the Searsons Farm, Parking is for free and is a safe place to live a vehicle. Boots are a must as the trails can be very muddy.

We attacked the trail clockwise, so we saw the docks of Felixstowe 1st, than we had a great bird watch, exactly when it started to rain we got to one of those small shelters when you can sit inside and watch the wildlife through the windows, was very calm and wonderful moment. We continued the journey towards Trimley Marches and the Loompit Lake. At the corner of the lake we decided that we are far enough now, so we took a right turn and headed towards the land avoiding as much as possible any roads and continuing our journey on trails we slowly arrived back to our vehicle. Exhausted, tired, but happy with the result. Another fantastic day out in the nature.

Here are some photos I took on this day. Enjoy: (pictures were taken with phone only) Click on photos to enlarge them.
