Old Felixstowe

A serene seaside walk

Today we decided to explore the charming coastal town of Old Felixstowe, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The crisp sea air and sounds of crashing waves set the perfect backdrop for a leisurely walk along this beautiful stretch of coastline.

Our stroll began by the pier, where the quaint beach huts painted in pastel colors created a picturesque scene against the blue sky. As we made our way along the promenade, we took in the stunning views of the sea, watching seagulls glide overhead and families enjoying the beach. The smooth path made for a relaxed walk, perfectly suited for soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.

One of the highlights of our walk was visiting the historic lighthouse. Standing sentry by the shore, it was a reminder of Old Felixstowe’s rich maritime history. We spent a few moments capturing photos before continuing our journey along the coastline, where we discovered some lovely walking trails amidst the grassy dunes.

Along the route, we paused to enjoy the vibrant natural surroundings—wildflowers blooming and the soothing sound of waves created a sense of peace that was truly rejuvenating. The blend of sandy beaches, lush greenery, and the sparkle of the water absolutely captivated us.

As we wrapped up our walk, we couldn’t resist stopping at a charming café for a cup of coffee and a slice of homemade cake. Sitting outside, we reflected on the beauty of Old Felixstowe and the joy of exploring such a lovely area.

Our day ended with a glorious sunset painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, a perfect closing to a wonderful day by the sea. Old Felixstowe proved to be a fantastic getaway, offering the ideal combination of natural beauty, history, and relaxation. We can’t wait to return and uncover more of its hidden gems!
