Discovering Oxford: A spring escape

A spring weekend in Oxford.

Our long weekend in Oxford was a beautiful escape, brimming with stunning spring flowers and rich history. From the moment we arrived, the city captured our hearts with its enchanting blend of tradition and natural beauty.

We kicked off our adventure with leisurely walks through the picturesque parks, which were bursting with vibrant blooms. The sight of blooming daffodils and tulips created a stunning backdrop for our strolls, reminding us of the joys of spring. One of the highlights was wandering through the University Parks, where we meandered along meandering paths, soaking in the serene atmosphere.

No visit to Oxford would be complete without exploring its magnificent cathedral — Christ Church Cathedral, to be precise. Its stunning architecture and peaceful interior left us in awe.

A quirky highlight of our trip was discovering the famous house with a shark on the roof. The unusual sight made for a fun photo op, and we enjoyed browsing the eclectic shops nearby. The blend of the unusual and the charming gave us a true taste of Oxford’s unique character.

The Oxford Botanic Garden was another enchanting stop on our journey. We couldn’t help but marvel at the stunning magnolia trees in full bloom, their delicate petals adding bursts of pink and white to the landscape. Wandering through the garden, we reveled in the peace and beauty of the meticulously curated plant collections.

Finally, we spent time along the serene riverbanks, watching the boats drift lazily along the river. We even enjoyed a delightful picnic by the waterside, surrounded by blooming wildflowers and the gentle sounds of nature.

As our weekend came to a close, we left Oxford feeling rejuvenated and inspired by its natural beauty and rich history. Each moment spent in this charming city reminded us of the joys of spring and the wonders waiting to be explored. We can’t wait for our next adventure!
