Melton to Woodbridge

A walk from Melton to Woodbridge and back

Today we decided to walk from Melton to Woodbridge. Filled with beautiful sights, delightful wildlife, and a well-deserved lunch that wrapped up our adventure perfectly.

Setting off from Melton, we were immediately captivated by the tranquility of the countryside. As we made our way alongside the river, we were thrilled to spot a group of deer gracefully wandering on the opposite bank. Their ethereal presence added a magical touch to the landscape, reminding us of the hidden wonders that nature often reveals, specially that one of them was pure white.

The path was laced with dandelions, their feathery seeds dancing in the breeze as we walked. It felt like each soft puff was a little wish escaping into the world, and we couldn’t help but join in the fun, blowing our own wishes into the wind.

As we continued, we stumbled upon some intriguing old shipwrecks that lay partially hidden by the riverbanks, remnants of a time gone by.

Arriving in Woodbridge, we were greeted by its charming atmosphere. One highlight was the historic old station house, a beautiful reminder of the town’s rich history and railway heritage. The blend of old-world charm with the warmth of the community made for a lovely backdrop to our day.

In full bloom, the paths were adorned with clusters of bluebells, their delicate petals creating a stunning carpet of blue that took our breath away. We paused to admire the scene, reveling in the beauty that surrounded us.

After soaking in all the sights, we decided it was time for a hearty lunch. We found a cozy café where we enjoyed a delicious salmon on toast—a fresh, healthy delight that perfectly satisfied our appetites after a day of exploration. The combination of flavors was simply divine!

As we retraced our steps back to Melton, we couldn’t help but think on the beauty of the day. From the captivating wildlife to the lovely sights of Woodbridge, it was a perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. Each step we took was filled with moments to cherish, and we returned home with hearts full and spirits high, already dreaming of our next walk.
