A June morning walk: from Dedham to East Bergholt and back
June mornings are often the best time to embrace the great outdoors, and this past weekend, I seized the perfect opportunity to explore the stunning landscapes that lie between Dedham and East Bergholt. With the sun shining it was a day made for walking.
After a lovely breakfast at Essex Rose Tea Room Dedham, I was keen to start walking and get rid of the calories I managed to stuff inside. As we meandered through the charming streets, we admired the iconic buildings and the picturesque river that flows through this enchanting area.
The path to East Bergholt took us along beautiful fields and past meandering hedgerows, where wildflowers danced in the light. Reaching East Bergholt, we paused to take in the scenery. The village is known for its picturesque charm, with lovely cottages and the historic St. Mary’s Church. On our return journey, we chatted about everything and nothing—sharing laughter and stories, allowing our minds to wander as freely as our feet. The return path offered a different perspective, revealing new angles of the scenery we had already cherished.
There’s something special about rewarding yourself after a lovely walk, and it provided the perfect end to our morning adventure.
This June morning walk from Dedham to East Bergholt and back was a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us, often just a step away. As nature comes alive in summer, I encourage everyone to lace up their walking shoes and explore the incredible landscapes in our own backyards. You never know what treasures await just around the corner!
