Aspall Family Fest’24

A Day of Fun at Aspall Family Fest: Celebrating Community and Tradition

We had the pleasure of attending the Aspall Family Fest, an annual celebration that brings together workers of the Aspall Brewery, their family, friends and locals for a day filled with laughter, activities, and a strong sense of community. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the historic Aspall Hall, the festival offered something for everyone, turning a typically quiet corner of Suffolk into a vibrant hub of excitement.

As we arrived, the sun was shining, and the air was alive with the sounds of cheerful chatter and laughter. Families were already gathering at the various stalls, sampling a delightful array of local cider and food. I couldn’t resist the temptation of a warm burger, a fresh curry and a refreshing local blush cider, perfectly embodying the flavors of Suffolk.

One of the highlights of the festival was the diverse range of activities on offer. Kids ran happily between bouncy castles, face painting stations, and an ice-cream van. I loved seeing the joy on their faces as they engaged in everything from arts and crafts to playing ball games on the field. It was heartwarming to witness the spirit of togetherness and the creation of memories that would last a lifetime.

For adults, the festival featured live music from local bands, creating an inviting atmosphere filled with foot-tapping rhythms. Between performances, I took the chance to say hello to my wife’s colleagues who I happen to know many of them. Also us having our family friends with us, we inevitably played some football and had some more cider. Supporting local businesses felt good, and I left with a few unique treasures to remember the day.

As the afternoon wore on, I found a cozy spot on the grass to soak in the festive ambiance. A local band had taken the stage, and I couldn’t help but tap my feet along to their lively tunes. The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the festival, and I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for communities like Aspall, where people come together to celebrate their shared heritage and the joys of life.

This was the 3rd year in row that we been at the festival and I must say every year this gets better and better.

As I headed home from Aspall Family Fest, I carried with me not just the tasty food and the perfect ciders in my belly, but also a heart full of cherished moments. This festival is a beautiful reminder of the importance of community and the joys of coming together to celebrate. If you ever get a chance to visit the festival, don’t miss it—there’s magic in the air, and it’s an experience that will surely warm your heart.
