Kersey: Scenic walk and local charm

A frosty and muddy walk in Kersey: Embracing nature and community

Yesterday, we set out for a charming walk in the picturesque village of Kersey, a hidden gem that perfectly captures the beauty of the English countryside. We parked our car by the cozy Bell pub, a local favorite, and began our journey across the river, making our way towards the stunning church that stands as a testament to the village’s rich history.

To our delight, we were greeted by the first snowdrops of the year, bravely emerging from the frosty ground. Their delicate white blooms signaled the promise of spring and added a touch of warmth to the chilly air. Eager to immerse ourselves in the rugged beauty surrounding us, we ventured into the fields for a delightful circular walk. The ground was a bit muddy, remnants of the winter chill, but the sheer joy of being outdoors made every squelch worth it.

The weather was surprisingly lovely, with clear skies and a gentle breeze. As we strolled along, the locals we met were friendly, offering warm greetings that added to the village’s welcoming atmosphere. It’s the little things like this that make walks in such communities so special.

Once back in the village after the 6.2 miles walk, we decided to relax and soak in the day’s experience with a well-deserved drink at the Bell pub. The inviting warmth of the pub contrasted beautifully with the crispness of the outdoors, making it the perfect end to our lovely excursion.

As we sipped our drinks and recounted our favorite moments of the walk, we felt a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life: nature, community, and the thrill of discovery just outside our doorstep. We headed home refreshed, with hearts full of joy and a renewed love for the great outdoors.
