Helmingham Hall to Otley

A scenic 7.6 mile circular walk: Helmingham Hall to Otley

Today, we embarked on a delightful 7.6-mile circular walk that took us from the picturesque Helmingham Hall to the charming village of Otley and back. Our adventure kicked off at The Old Forge, where the air was crisp and the promise of a beautiful day lay ahead.

As we set out, we crossed the enchanting fields of Round Wood, enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature around us. Our path led us onwards to Wood Farm, where the landscape shifted beautifully, showcasing the idyllic countryside.

Before long, we spotted the welcoming village sign of Otley. A sharp left turn directed us towards Marthas Bar, where we indulged in delicious hot sausage rolls, scrumptious cakes, and refreshing drinks—just the energy boost we needed!

Refueled and ready for more exploration, we ventured north through lush fields until we stumbled upon a breathtaking expanse of rapeseed flowers. The vibrant yellow blooms were too stunning to resist, so we took some time to capture the beauty on camera.

Before we knew it, we were making our way back to Helmingham Hall, where we took a leisurely stroll around the gardens. One of the highlights of our day was spotting some graceful deer roaming freely in the park. Their elegance added a magical touch to an already memorable day.

This lovely circular walk was a perfect blend of nature, good food, and unforgettable sights. We can’t wait for our next adventure!
