Exploring Bergamo: a day of culinary delights and breathtaking views

Today, we embarked on a wonderful adventure in the charming city of Bergamo, Italy. Our journey began bright and early as we landed at Bergamo Airport at 9 AM. Eager to dive into the local culture and cuisine, we headed straight to the city center, where we conveniently stored our luggage, ready to explore.

We strolled along the main boulevard, taking in the picturesque sights and sounds of Bergamo. Our destination was the iconic Piazza Vecchia, where history and beauty come together. And oh, what a delight it was! We treated ourselves to a local culinary experience that truly left us craving more. We savored the best pizza we’ve ever had, topped with fresh local mozzarella—every bite was a slice of heaven. For dessert, we couldn’t resist indulging in the perfect gelato, smooth and flavorful, which was the ideal ending to our midday feast. As the sun began to set, we relished a mouthwatering lasagne for dinner, which perfectly warmed us for the evening ahead.

After enjoying the culinary delights, we took the time to soak in the breathtaking views from the top of the city. The panorama showcasing the rolling hills and picturesque rooftops was nothing short of stunning, a sight to remember!

Once we were full and satisfied, we made our way back to the main bus station, where we caught a bus to Tavernerio. The two-hour drive through the serene Italian countryside was a perfect prelude to the time we would spend with friends.

We finally arrived at our friends’ place, where we will rest our heads for the night before embarking on another exciting journey to Como tomorrow. Today has been a beautiful introduction to our Italian adventure, filled with flavors, views, and unforgettable moments! Stay tuned for more from our travels!
