A blissful day in Cinque Terre: Monterosso al Mare and Vernazza

Today’s adventure took us to the stunning Cinque Terre, a place of colourful villages, breath-taking coastal views, and charming streets. We arrived by train in Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the five villages, renowned for its beautiful beaches and historic charm.

Eager to explore, we set out on a hike along the mountain trails toward Vernazza. Unfortunately, as we ascended, we discovered that the trails were available only for a fee to be paid, so we decided to turn back and head back to Monterosso. No worries, though, as the journey itself was part of the adventure!

Instead, we took the train from Monterosso to Vernazza, another picturesque village famous for its colourful harbour and vibrant atmosphere. After soaking in the views and strolling through the narrow streets, we ended our day with a delicious pizza in the main square, some gelato, enjoying the lively ambiance and the beautiful seaside scenery.

Though our initial plans changed, the day in Cinque Terre was filled with memorable moments, stunning vistas, and good food. We can’t wait to return and explore more of this enchanting region!
