A delightful day at Wimpole Estate in Arrington

Today, we had the pleasure of visiting the enchanting Wimpole Estate in Arrington (part of National Trust), and what a wonderful day it turned out to be! From exploring historic ruins to enjoying the sunny outdoors, our visit was filled with memorable moments and scenic beauty. At arrival we been welcomed by a charming second-hand book sale hosted on the estate grounds. Surrounded by shelves of interesting titles, we found some lovely books to take home. It was a perfect way to unwind and indulge in a bit of reading.

Inside the Estate
Our journey began with a tour inside the estate. The historic buildings and elegant interiors offered a glimpse into the estate’s rich history. We marveled at the architecture and took plenty of photos to remember the day. The calm and stately atmosphere inside truly transported us back in time.

Strolling through the gardens, woodlands
Stepping outside, we wandered through the beautifully maintained gardens. The vibrant blooms, lush greenery, and fragrant flowerbeds created a serene setting perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sunshine. It was a feast for the senses, and we couldn’t resist taking a leisurely walk along the winding paths. Beyond the gardens, the estate extends into charming woodlands. We enjoyed a peaceful walk among tall trees, listening to the gentle rustling of leaves and the cheerful chirping of birds. The woodland trails provided a lovely escape into nature, making us appreciate the estate’s diverse landscape.

A short stroll from the estate led us to the fascinating ruins of an old castle. The remnants of stone walls and towers told stories of the past and added a touch of historical intrigue to our visit. It was exciting to imagine what life once was like within those ancient walls.

The Farm and its animals
No trip to Wimpole Estate is complete without visiting the farm. We were delighted to see a variety of animals—sheep, chickens, ducks, and even some friendly ponies. The farm was lively and bustling, and the kids especially enjoyed petting and feeding the animals.

Throughout the day, the weather was absolutely perfect—bright sunshine and clear skies made everything even more enjoyable. The warm rays and gentle breeze created ideal conditions for exploring and relaxing outside.

All in all, today’s visit to Wimpole Estate was a truly delightful experience. We enjoyed the blend of history, nature, animals, and community activities, all under a beautiful sunny sky. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
