Earls Colne

A refreshing spring stroll at Earls Colne

Today’s walk through Earls Colne was a delightful journey into the heart of spring. We began our adventure at the local church, where we were greeted by the first sight of snowdrops gently pushing through the earth—a promising sign of the changing season.

Earls Colne is a charming village rich in history and community spirit. With its traditional cottages, welcoming pubs, and scenic countryside, it’s a place that perfectly blends rural tranquillity with a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Next, we visited the village sign, a charming spot where we spotted a quirky phone booth converted into a cozy bookcase, adding a touch of community creativity to our walk.

Venturing through muddy trails, we made our way down towards the river. The path behind the golf club revealed a lively scene: wild ducks gliding across the water, bluetits flitting among the trees, and even a muntjac deer quietly observing us from the undergrowth. On the nearby fields, rams grazed peacefully, embodying the rural charm of the area.
Our walk was also bursting with colour, as loads of spring flowers bloomed along the way, filling the air with fresh fragrance and vibrant hues. It was a wonderful reminder of the natural beauty and wildlife that make Earls Colne such a special place to explore.
