1st of January, New Years 1st walk.
When planning a New Year’s walk in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, you can consider exploring “The Sailor’s Path,” a 17.9-km scenic trail popular for birdwatching and hiking. The trail offers beautiful views and is usually completed in approximately 3 hours and 47 minutes. Another option to consider is the “Aldeburgh Circular Walk,” which starts from the North car park in Aldeburgh and offers an enjoyable walking experience along the Suffolk coast including the Scallop.
We parked at the end of Slaughden Rd, Aldeburgh IP15 5DE for free and done a walk from the ice-cream shop to Maggi Hambling’s ‘Scallop’ and back.
Considering the weather was not particular nice, we done our absolute best to get out on the 1st day of the year and complete with a small walk, rewarding ourselves with ice-cream and with a hot drink at the lake. (the sushi was made by me at home and packed into a plastic container so we can enjoy something rather unusual for the 1st day of the year, hence we stayed outside not in the café)
The sky was really grey, was not the perfect weather for a nature walk, but managed to get around and do a 5 mile round trip around the village. parking on the high street is free and as long as you don`t block anyone’s entrance, you can leave the vehicle where you want basically.
Here are some photos I took on this day. Enjoy: (pictures were taken with phone only) Click on photos to enlarge them.
